I love my mission!

Dear friends and family,

What a humbling week Elder D. and I have had. The baptism was marvelous! N. brought 6 of his own friends and some are now potentials! He is a spectacular young man and I love him so much. N's mom also came to the baptism and I met her for the first time, she is a member and her two other children are not members (but will soon be(: haha). The baptism was perfect and nothing went wrong. My first baptism, I only had to dunk him once haha! Let me tell you... I have never felt the spirit so strongly for so long! Even thinking about it makes me feel so wonderful! Also the day before we took N to see the Temple! It was... AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

There have also been more tender-mercy/ miracles this week, starting with a woman named N! so yesterday I remembered a less-active member who suffers from depression so we went and tried to catch him at home, but... he wasn’t home. So we had two choices; either go to a member who didn’t come to chuch on Sunday or go to two potential 'invest-a-friends' that lived far away. I felt prompted to go to the two that lived forever away (; we missed the first bus and the second would come in 35 min... so we waited in the cold, and waited, and waited, and waited until I noticed the bus coming up the hill... BUT, we stopped a woman who was walking her dog. We actually stopped her and visited with her, then BAM! A home across the street had a house alarm go off... It was so loud, but we continued to tell her of our message. Once we told her that the Book of Mormon was the word of God and that God actually existed, she was in tears and she told us that her day was a rubbish day and that what we were angels who answered her beacon call! We set up a return appt. and it was amazing!

Then today just a couple hours ago (on P-Day) I found a boy who loved... Wait for it... aaaaaaaahhhh.... SUPERMAN!!! He had a backpack and everything! Finally my love and my passion has started to kick in! He is interested and we meet with him tomorrow!!!!

Mom: ask spencer to find Krissy's sister(s) @ school and give them the two Letters, if not, the Edwards family lives in the direction of spencers friend 'Tyler' and I bet if you ask around, you can find. I don’t have an address, but the fathers name is Scott Edwards, you could also try facebook! haha. How is Spencer by the way? how is Brycie, how is Coleman Tredwell? I am very jealous that you went to yellowstone without me!!! haha I hope the rain didn’t stop your fun! Thank you for the packages and the gloves! They actually came and I have started to use them… oops, Christmas,I know! Mom I am glad you are keeping busy! keep it up and now with your new calling with the young women, that’s spectacular! Just make sure you are not overworking yourself! This mission is amazing and yes if you could send me Old Spice Deodorant, and cologne that would be fantastic! Also tell Spencer that he has an email in his inbox and he should look at it! I love you all and always look forward to these emails!

Love,
Elder Nichols

P.S. Send my regards to Teal and J.J. "I wish I was there!"

Yes, Yes, yes yes!!!

Hello hello hello my friends and family!!!!

The mission is becoming easier and easier, but at the same time it is becoming more challenging and tons more fun!!! Now some of my excitement may just be because 1) My first baptism is on my birthday 2) My birthday (; 3) the multi-vitamins I have started to take because of the weather here in England... Haha!

Mom: Thank you so much for the card and for the Email... I have yet to look at the letter because my birthday is not yet here and on top of that, Elder Domiciano (my companion) has taken it away from me until my birthday haha. Now the answeres to your questions!! :)    "What do you love most about your mission?"- Well... I would have to say, without being pridefull, the great opportunity I have had to see myself grow in such a short amount of time! It has been incredible to watch myself progress in the learning, social part, and the emotional part of not feeling homesick... yet... I also love the chocolate, but there are a lot of things back home that I love more (especially the cold cereal). "Sheet Music"- Sure! send it all over haha :) "retainer" I am guessing that the retainer that you have found is the one that I lost some years ago... losing that retainer forced me to get the one that I have now (by the way, I have my retainer and I wear it each night) "other things for Christmas"- I need deoderant (if possible: old spice)! My bright yellow tennis pull-over that is in one of the big boxes down in my old room pleeeeeessssseeeee :):):):) For the letters that are coming in the mail: those letters were written a little early in my mission so if I say that you havent spoken to me for a while and you have then I apologize.

The Mission is fantastic! I have the honor and the priviledge to baptize Nathan! It will be a great day! Oh and I am so happy that everyone at home is doing fine! GM&GP moving to Idaho?!?!?! it was only a matter of time ;) Derek picked up another shift and Kaitlyn finding more friends?!?! haha Ally comes home soon!!!! Oh, I have one thing I ask from for everyone who is reading... The people we are teaching need individual help. Please pray daily for them; Jeff Taylor, he has a fear of leaving the house, please pray for him to over come that.
B; getting over addictions.
P; getting over his smoking problem and being worthy to hold the priesthood again.
N; as he stays worthy for baptism and all goes well!

Thank you all for being here for me! I keep all in my prayers and know that my knowledge and testimony have been strengthened through the things that I am doing here!

I love you all, Cheers Loves,
Elder Nichols

Incredible News!

Hello Everyone,

I have some incredible news and it is marvellous! This week has been full of blessings and love. First off, thank you for all the emails! I Enjoy reading all of them. Second off, I just got that letter you sent, mom, from the 22 of Sep today haha! Mail is terrible over in GB. I actually have sent the letters I said I would and they should be there within two to three weeks haha. Also mom, I am fine, you asked a lot of questions and off we go: I am walking everywhere also riding the bus, we packed everything perfect, my converter is just fine, and last question was "what would you change now that your there? Nothing, I am doing great!
About, Christmas... hmm...those 'totes' slippers, candy (American), and whatever you can think of, gloves, more contacts (; (not needed, just wanted), your love, something from my ward friends (if it is possible). Yeah that would be nice! Thank you!
Ok, so if you remember last week my companion and I met a man named Jeff. We had a sit down lesson with him on the Plan of Salvation and it was tough cause his phone went off 4 or 5 times plus our phone and on top of that, his dog was jumping up and down on me and on Elder Domiciano! Anyway he accepted the message and has complete faith in it. He actually lives by all the standards that Mormons should haha! He has one little problem... he is a negoraphobic... he cannot leave the house and that has been going on for four years!!!! He also committed to baptism!!!
Next up we have Nathan. Nathan is 16... and a half and we met him on a street display. He accepted our invitation to come over and teach him so on the 10th we taught him and the lesson was supposed to be 45 min but extended to 2 hours!! He is a non-member and his mom is a less-active, but Nathan loves the missionaries so we took him to church yesterday and loved it!!! And on top of that we took him to the Recent Convert Devotional in Manchester City last night. After the devotional we talked to him and asked him how he felt (Ever since his father had passed 5 years ago, he never had any emotions) (he hates emotions) anyway he said that he had never felt so moved since his father had died. After that we committed him to be BAPTISED!!!! and he said... wait for iiiiiiiittttttt.... YES!!!!! and you'll never guess his date... MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! 0: Miracles have happened!
Anyway I would just like to tell you all that I love you all and a letter will be coming soon! Thank you for being an amazing and brilliantly marvellous family! I know the Saviour lives and he is the center to all that we do on this earth and after plus before. I love this gospel and know it is true and God does help us in those times of need and "no sacrifice, no victory" also "with great power comes great responsibility" and one more "they will stumble, they will fall but in time they will join you in the sun" my favorite movie quotes ever (:
Please keep Nathan, Jeff, Goodwill, and others in your prayers tonight and remember that I love you all.

Sincerely,

Your, younger brother, older brother, brother-in-law, son, neighbor, friend, family member, and most of all, Elder... Elder Nichols (James Bond voice)

Send me your addresses, please

Dear Family and Friends,

Friends: Please send me the address you would like to receive letters to so I can send personal letters to you (I absolutely hate Emails, they are RUBBISH!). Cay: I will so take you up on that offer! sounds like a marvelous idea!! Con: I may not come back with an accent, but my vocabulary will be greatly changed haha I love you! I love all my Friends and I wish you all the greatest Mission (even though I have the best mission)
Family: I will be sending many letters home for other people including yourselves, but I need your help in passing them to the correct people cause I don't know anyones addresses plus its cheaper the way I am doing it (: Also I want to hear from all of you! (even Brycie Boy!) haha

Exciting times!! Just these past two days I watched Conference, and let me tell you, it was soooo amazing! I never felt the spirit so strongly! I hope you all had the chance to watch it! I will also tell you that it was soooo weird that It wasn’t at morning and afternoon for live sessions!!! The morning sessions started at 5.0 pm and the Afternoon started at 9.0 pm (so we didn’t watch it live)... Anyway my companion and I watched the Saturday morning session with the Knowles who are the part member family and Paul is the man who wants to come back into the church and be worthy to exercise the Priesthood! The whole family loved it so it was marvelous!
Anyway how is everyone! I hardly hear from anyone haha! (except for Con Con, Cay Cay, and Dad! (which I love you all the most ;) )) I’m just teasing! I love you all!!! Dad: Keep up the brilliant work! I know teaching is fun and hard for you, but you love challenges so thats great! I love the card you sent!

Warning: Dad just make sure that when you send me things that I’m still in that area (maybe just send letters to my flat).
I love you all Sooooooo Much!!!
Love,
Elder Nichols

Super week

Dear family and friends,

It is so nice to read the emails you all have sent! This week has been super... Why? Well let me explain in detail ;) Tuesday the 22nd: We (as a district) went to Warrington and had what is called a Street Display. The name is pretty self expalnatory, but for those who are reading and have no clue. Street Display- Setting up a booth in the middle of town and stop random people and explain the gospel to them. Going about either in ones or twos (stay within sight and sound if you are alone)- so that’s what it is :) I taught 6 lessons and gave out only one Book of Mormon and had no new 'Friends' (Investigators are no longer the term, the first presidency changed that). Wednesday 23rd we found a new 'Friend' whoohoo!!! Success! Thursday 24th we taught a progressive 'Friend' named Frank and Frank is very tough to work with cause he didn't understand the Priesthood. Now Frank has been a 'Friend' for over 2 months now and all that time he didn't understand authority so we took with us a recent convert Goodwill! We all focused on the Priesthood Authority, now he understands it, by the way he is Catholic, but it is now in his hands to decide if he wants to find for himself or not. Friday 25 a Man named Fui Fui! Fui is a professional rugby player and he is from Tonga, his wife is from the States and is a member and he is a less active, but goes to church when his wife forces him to haha :) anyway, Fui took my companion and me to Frankie and Bennies which is a 'Close to American food' Restaurant and we started off with two 15 inch pizzas for an appatiser, I had half of one and then I ordered two shakes plus the main course which was half a chicken, a rack of ribs, chips (fries), Mash (mashed potatoes) and on top of all that I ordered a chocolate molten cake. I ate it all because of Fui haha :) Look him up on google, he might be there. Saturday 26th was the Wigan Street Display! I had 12 lessons handed out 4 Books of Mormon and no 'Friends' haha, that’s missionary work for ya! Last night was Fast Sunday! We had a marvelous Sabbath and had Tea with some members who cook like a dream! ... I know this email is a little lengthy, but hold on ;) My companion and I also taught a lesson, earlier in the week, to a less active/ part active family. The father is the less active and the rest of the family are non-members. The father smokes and wants to quit real bad so we are helping him with the addiction recovery program. His testimony is strong and I believe that he can be worthy of holding a temple recommend soon!

Alright, I really miss aAmerican candy haha. I have not had culture shock and don't really think i will receive any cause I absolutely love it here in England! The food is so much better tasting and healthier over here... other than Grandma's meatloaf and Mom's cooking ;) I am putting on a little bit of weight, but not too much haha. I have some pictures this time and I will send some!

I love you all! I pray for each and every individual every night.
