A tracting we will go...

Dear Family and Friends!

Its so great to hear from all of my dear friends! Cheers for all that you do and the support that you give both to me and to the other missionaries world wide!

Well... A tracting we will go.. a tracting we will go.. hi ho the scriptur-o.. a tracting we will go (in the rain). Wew, I am so blessed to be in a wonderful area for tracting all day every day! One day we will have interested friends who want to know more about the Gospel, but as of right now we are putting all our efforts into finding amazing (gospel) hungry brothers and sisters!

I had a joke that made me laugh so hard this week: Did you know that the first Baseball game was played in the Bible? Why, yes... In the Big-inning... AHAHHA thats a good one in my book!

Anyway, I am doing really well here In So. Ribble and miss all of you so much! Oh, we are probably going to move flats once again, but this time its only a minute down the road so I will still be in the same area, i will still take the same bus at the exact same bus stop, but the only difference is that we will have more space in a lovely new flat!

Sunday was great! We had a great talk given to the congegation on not missing the world that God has made for us. I mean who wants to go to heaven and meet the Big Man as he asks "How'd you enjoy the world I created for you?" I, for sure, do not want to say, "Well life was too busy and went way too fast so I didnt even pay attention" That would be awful! It also reminded me of my childhood a bit and the fun I had way back in the day.

Thank you all so much for who you are!

Love,

Elder Nichols

Transfers are in two days… But we both are staying in So. Ribble!

Hello family and friends!

Wow what a miracle of a week my companion and I have had! We have been working our very hardest in finding those who need the wonderful gospel in their lives. Last Tuesday we had a District Meeting, the Zone Leaders where there, President Ulrich was there, and the ward mission leader was there! It almost felt like the whole mission was in on our District Meeting. The worst part about it was that Elder Weggersen and I had to give a training (lesson) on how to use time wisely!! It’s been a while since I've been that nervous haha. Everything went well and according to plan. When we were preparing our plan, I came across something super important. First off I was reading the talk from General Conference 'To the Rescue: We Can Do It' by - Elder Mervyn B. Arnold. He talks about how we need to rescue people, so in my thoughts I thought that this is what we are doing as missionaries! We are literally going out every day not to find people to baptize but to go to the rescue and save those brothers and sisters who need the Gospel in their lives! Once Elder Weggersen and I went out with that mind-set we helped rescue loads of people! God works in mysterious ways and its crazy! Just like Nephi, he wanted to know the mysteries of God so he prayed and received an answer. After his answer he did amazing things! The same principal apply to missionary work!

Anyway, we've been doing loads of tracting, loads of member visits, and tons of trudging through the wonderful rain and I have to say, I love every single minute! We have had so many great things happening and everything has been going really well that it made my heart sink when reality closed in on me; Transfers are in two days... But we both are staying!!! So. Ribble is full of ready people and I love it!

Thank you all for your nice emails! I enjoy them so much, they all make my day that much sweeter! Thank you also for all the support you give all the missionaries and me in the field!

Mom, and Family: Jimminy Christmas! Spencer, lookin like a big, handsome, stud muffin! I cannot believe that you had your last Prom! How was it? Caitlyn looks like a gem! You are the man! Mom! It sounds like you are having fun, but don’t remind me that it’s already been 8 months!! ha-ha its ok, it just made me laugh ;) I cannot believe how fast time flies by! Bryce, way to be with those merit badges! Get a ton of them and get more than me!!! Work harder than me on that because it pays off. I love you all and keep staying classy!! Love you lots

South Ribble

Dear Family and Friends,

General Conference! I hope all of you have watched it because it was amazing!! My personal favorite was Pres. Eyring's first talk about the seed and the sewer! All of the talks were great though! I also hope that everyone gained something personally special! What do you think will happen on the 200 annual G.C.?

Not too much excitement over here in So. Ribble, but one major change in the mission is that we all have been challenged to wake up at 6:00 instead of 6:30! It may seem out of this world, a whole 30 min but it has made a major impact on the whole mission! For me personally I have seen myself receive more strength, energy, and a much clearer mind to work harder, bolder, and more efficiently! It has had a lot to do with the Lord though, as we follow the rules of God without any complaints, we will receive a greater amount of happiness. We can always ask the why to a changed rule and sometimes we get an answer and sometimes we need to face that we have visionary leaders who receive revelation and those changed rules are here to help and bless us. One of my companions said that all the commandments are not to stop us from having fun and not living a full life, but they are there as a Shark tank that we dive underwater with. As we take beautiful pictures and enjoy the moment in safety, we need not worry about the dangerous monsters that are out to grab and drag us to the depths. Imagine if we had no commandments, not a single rule to govern us, what would happen? The rules and guidelines are here for protection and the outcome may not always be within sight or sound, but in the long run, happiness will overcome and the blessings God has in store will rain upon anyone and everyone who heeds and follows him and his rules.

This week has been a lot, and I mean a lot, of finding people. I find the reaction of others who do not appreciate God, Jesus, and their creation saddening, but I know that God has a plan for all of us and we need to take action to help our fellow brothers and sisters come unto this amazingly restored gospel! Have fun everyone in this springtime! Enjoy each moment that comes around because it will soon be gone to another memory. Never lose sight on the little flecks of gold ;)

Elder Nichols
