Learning about sacrifice

Dear Fam & Friends,

It's been a really hard working week, I thought I had been working
hard enough to not get any more blisters... but they came! We had a lot
of investigators drop us and a lot of new investigators. It just never
ends, in a good way! I love serving Heavenly Father and we are just
working on those who have been prepared by Heavenly Father. Teaching
the Gospel is the greatest gift I have received and what others can
receive! Wasting this precious time would be sad!

One thing I learned this week was about sacrifice. We, as children of
God, must be willing to give everything up for Him who gave everything
to us. It goes along with the story of Christ when he asked the young
rich man who just couldn't give up his wealth and money for following
the saviour though he knew it to be true! I urge all who read to find
something to sacrifice for this week to becoming closer to Christ. For
example, find something such as a bad habit and stop it for a week and
try to become like the Saviour. I promise you that as you do so, the
Spirit will be more full in your day to day living and that you will
be doing and accomplishing the will of our Heavenly Father. In the name
of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Mom & Family: I must be skinny if you're asking me to eat more food mom!
Well I shall do my best to eat more! Thank you for letting me know
about Paul, also thank you for attempting to change my classes. I love
all of you so very much! And I will speak to you next week! I
apologize for not answering all your questions! I will attempt to do
so next week! Love you!!

Sprinting to the finish!

Dear Family & Friends,

I am so sorry for the short email but as a Zone we had a massive
activity that took up most of our time!

We have been working so hard, we have been sprinting to the finish
line and we are exhausted! We have a lot of success this week! We
found a family that is so funny! They were supposed to come to church
but they were hung over from a party on Saturday. They invited us to
the party and we went to the first 20 min of it. They had a massive
blow-up slide and we went on it after the pressure from all of the
adults. It was fun and they will be baptized in the next two months.

I finally had an answer to the gospel! I had a sure clear answer to if
the Book of Mormon is true! I read two verses of scriptures and I
knelt down and as soon as I put my knees to the ground the spirit came
over me and I knew that, even before I asked the question, the Book of
Mormon is the word of God. It was the most incredible experience and
it took me 22 months but I now have a testimony!

Mom & Family: I will take the driving test until I
get it, since my mission President wants me to get it. Life back home
sounds crazy and thank you for setting me up for school! Is there a
possibility to put me into tennis instead of racquetball? Or pickle
ball or volleyball? Just a small request but if not thank you anyway!
Well I love you all and will see you soon!

Fantastic Week in Stockport!

Dear Family & Friends,

It's been a fantastic week here in Stockport England! Being with Elder
Anderson is quite the ride! I love him a lot and we work hard all day
every day. Every single night we are just so tired that it feels like
15 min of sleep when we wake up. Yet missionary work is the greatest
thing.

We have an investigator who has a beard that might be a foot long. How
we found him was that we were Tracting and he answered the door. We
spoke with him and then he invited us back. We have been able to teach
him the Restoration and the Plan of Salvation and he loves it. We are
just wait ion for him to receive an answer from Heavenly Father that
the Book of Mormon is true.

We had our last interviews with President Ulrich as he goes home at
the end of this month. His invitation was for me to memorize my entire
Patriarchal Blessing! It's a big challenge but it's easier then you'd
expect, and it is powerful. I have learned much more about myself and
about my blessing then I could ever imagine. It brought to my
attention that repentance is having a fresh view of God, ourselves and
the world. To see it as God would see it. Repentance is so strong and
it was made possible in and through our beloved Saviour Jesus Christ.

Having a testimony of Jesus Christ is is the Saviour of the world and
he lives. I know through experience that it is true. I testify that as
you read the Book of Mormon daily, you will gain a witness and/or a
stronger testimony of its truthfulness by the power of the Holy Ghost.
The Plan of Salvation can answer every question that pertains to life
itself. We are all children of God and he loves us enough to restore
all of this truth to us in this last Dispensation in the name of Jesus
Christ, amen.

Mom & Fam: love you all! It sounds like a plan with the condo in
October! Have fun for now! Wow it's crazy how quickly my time is
coming to an end as a missionary! Thank you mother for all of your
prayers, I have felt them as I have seen a burst in the work, my life
and as I have been even safer, so thank you. Dad, I have to say,
your last few months sounded brutal and then fun, mine are the
greatest of my mission as of right now! It's the happiest I've ever
been in life! Have a great week in the sun as I will be walking under
my happy humble little umbrella everywhere I go!

Crazy Week!

Dear Fam & Friends,

Well it's been a crazy week full of excitement, lots of bomb and
different types of threats. The bomb in Manchester, the attack in
London, and lots of other threats. We have seen the police everywhere.
We believe that it is due to the elections coming up soon. Do not take
any worries, as we are safe and aware of our surroundings. Lots of
prayers need to be said in this scary time, but whatever happens,
Heavenly Father knows.

Elder Anderson is from Washington State but his family now lives in
bountiful Utah. So we speak about the different types of places
(Muller Park). I have missed tennis so much!

President Ulrich has his last month in the mission and he has been
preparing the England Manchester Mission for the next president. It is
crazy! We are working harder then ever before. We have found 20+ new
investigators these past 5 days so the Lord has blessed us with an
ample amount of success and our goal for this month is 2 baptisms and
so far we have some good promising investigators!

Sorry for the rushed email, time is short and duty calls!

Mom & Fam: thank you for setting up my university stuff! I appreciate
it! Time is flying by and I can't wait to see all of you. Keep up the
high spirit and massive smiles!

Love,
Elder Scott Nichols
