Preston!

Hiya Everyone!

Wow, what an interesting week this has been. Transfers have come and Preston is quite the place! Lots of historical events have happened. The River Ribble is one of those events. First baptisms in England happened there.

I don’t have much time so this will be quick. Just yesterday my new companion, Elder Weggersen, and I went finding in City Centre and were kind of in a slump of lazy finding so we recommended that we split up and take a side of the street and contact as many people as possible. After loads of unhappy people walked by I tried to stop this man with a bright yellow jacket by asking him where he got his jacket, he looked at me and looked confused. I asked again and he disregarded my question, but started talking about us "Mormons" we had a great chat for about an hour about different gospel topics. The moment and the miracle I would like to share is a very special moment and is an answer that this church is the one and only true church. In the middle of the conversation I pointed out that if he was feeling peace, love and comfort then he was feeling the spirit. I confirmed to him in the name of Christ that he has felt the Holy Ghost bear witness that everything I have said was true and that he could find out for himself if he had a desire to know. He did not speak for another 15 sec and was speechless. At that moment I knew that I had but a small part in his first step in conversion, but it was Heavenly Father that saw that moment fit for his life to one day change and become better. With this man, we have set up another appt. soon and hopefully he will want to have those same feelings and have more miracles happen in his life.

I know this email was short, but I do know that this church is true and that I have the honor and the privilege to preach to the people in Preston. I love you all so much and miss you as well. I know that all of us are were we are right now for a specific purpose and that we can know all things by asking God.

Love,

Elder Nichols
