Dear Family & Friends,
Yesterday we had a very powerful Sacrament meeting and it once again
re-confirmed my testimony in the Prophet Joseph Smith. The Spirit
filled the room as we listened to four wonderful talks with regards to
the Restoration of the Gospel. There was one speaker that had very
little eloquence in their talk, but the testimony of that individual
was true. The bishop of the Stockport ward was where it hit me though,
he gripped the pulpit and testified with tears in his eyes and a peace
in his voice. He bore powerful witness that Heavenly Father and Jesus
Christ appeared to a 14 yr old boy. His testimony brought solemn
satisfaction and it pierced my heart to the very core, I knew that God
lives and Christ lives and that Joseph Smith is the prophet of the
Restoration.
This week has been very uplifting, we are in process of a musical
performed and produced by the church and it's called the British
Pageant. It will be a remarkable event with over 300 actors and we are
bringing as many investigators as possible. It will touch the hearts
of many who come and watch! It is amazing, and this is the best way to
end the mission! I have been blessed by the Lord with so many great
events and opportunities and I could never deny the testimony in which
I have been given, I know the gospel is true and that came through the
Gift and Power of the Holy Ghost. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Mom & Fam: I honestly cannot believe that I have less days than a new
missionary has months... 23 months under the raps and I just wish to
express all my love and joy o have for all of you! I loved your story
dad about getting bucked off your bike one more time, it made my day
very light and happy. Mom, you are a super-mom and I will forever be
grateful for your influence in my life. My brothers and sister, you
all are the greatest closest friends I have ever had, have, and will
yet to have. Spencer, keep going, work your heart out and Hope is an
abiding trust in the lord that he will pour his blessings upon you in
his own time so keep being faithful to the end, knocking doors
actually does work (Believe me, great success has come from it here in
England). I love you all and miss you all! Keep working hard and doing
your best.
Love,
Elder Nichols

Opposition in all things
7/24/2017
Dear Family & Friends,
I testify of the Law of Opposition in All Things! These past 2 weeks
have been brutal with much negative responses from the English people.
Door after door, individual after individual from the streets, we just
had rejection and a dump truck full of it, yet where Opposition faces
with great force miracles and blessings are soon to rise and pour out.
This is what has happened this week. We have gone a few days without
finding someone, teaching someone, and it has been difficult yet I
have seen the greatest successes this transfer already! Investigators
are more progressing as ever and the work is moving forward still.
The spirit has touched my hear to share with you that if all members
read the Ensign from month to month, including daily personal study,
that is the key to keeping and strengthening testimony and staying
active in the church. I have read through last months Ensign and I
found wonderful 'Golden Nuggets' and I have seen the blessings from
reading and applying what the Prophets and Apostles have shared with
us.
I pray that as you all study the Book of Mormon and read the Ensign,
your spirituality will increase and even your nature will have
changed. I know that Christ lives and that His Father, our Father,
Heavenly Father loves all of His children and wants to both try us and
bless us with things that bring us closer to Him and His Son. In the
name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Mom & Fam:
So thank you for your emails, I know it is getting to that time where
it's almost a burden since I will see you in a months time but is
still love and appreciate all you do. I love all of you so much!!
Love,
Elder Nichols

New Companion and Last Companion!
7/17/2017
Dear Family & Friends,
This week has been full or excitement. My new companion and last
companion Elder Arias is from Columbia and has been out for nearly a
whole year! He is an incredible missionary with a massive desire and
dedication to serving the lord Jesus Christ.
Throughout the whole week all of our investigators dropped us and we
struggle to have our investigators keep their commitments. We are
giving our very best though and will never give up nor surrender. The
work is all about the Spirit and how we respond to others. Full of
love and grace towards the people of England.
I bare my solemn witness that Christ lives and that He loves us. We
can feel of his love by applying His Atonement into our lives. We must
do as Joseph Smith did and pray for a forgiveness of our sins each
day. We can and will be made whole through His Atonement and anything
unfair in life can be made right through His sacrifice. In the name of
Jesus Christ, Amen.
Mom & Fam: I love you all! Kaitlyn, I cannot wait to try all the
different cookies you can bake! Congrats on your job (the legitimate
one). It sounds amazing and intense! Derek as well, get that school
work done because within a month we need to have some brother time! I
cannot forget Bryce as well. Mom, don't be too sore from 150 miles
cause that is outstanding! And Dad, I just love you and your example.
See you really soon... but who's counting?

Priceless blessings
7/10/2017
Dear Family & Friends,
We had a blessing this week that made a priceless close for my
companion and myself. Roughly about four weeks ago we tracted into a
man named Scott. He had a beard that was about a foot long and he was
a very humble man. Over two lessons we taught him and he started to
pray every night and read the Book of Mormon. It was a bit confusing
for him but he started to feel Gods presence more. We had him on date
for baptism for the 24th of June but we had some miscommunication and
did not see him for weeks. He went on vacation to Tenerife for two
weeks. After some time, Elder Anderson had Scott on the backs of our
minds but didn't really see where success would come from him so we
left it.
Yesterday we had Ward Council Meeting and as it started we began to
talk about the ward and their needs. I felt a buzz in my pocket as we
sat there and I heard the spirit whisper to me to check my phone... I
ignored the first prompting as I thought it very disrespectful to use
my phone during a meeting. The spirit whispered to me once again to
check my phone, thoughts came to my mind of just little things such as
missionaries texting or members texting me but I got my phone out of
my pocket and low and behold it was Scott "hey, is there a service on
today?" My heart raced as I responded "Yes there is. Church starts at
10am and we will be there, do you remember where it is?" And very
quickly he responded "Yes I do, I will see you there! :)"... my
companion were shocked as he walked through the doors of the Chapel.
Previously we had been praying for a miracle to happen and have
someone ready for the ordinance of baptism and Heavenly Father
answered our prayers. It was an 'End of Transfer Miracle'.
I am staying in my home of Stockport for my last transfer and Elder
Anderson goes back to Bountiful Utah! My new companion is named Elder
Arias and he is from Columbia. These are exciting times never to be
forgotten. It's time to find, teach, and baptise!
I bare you my witness that Christ is the Reason. I know that Heavenly
Father provides his children according to their desires. He answers
prayers. I am a witness that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and
is a record written by prophets inspired by God. I know that by
receiving knowledge through the scriptures we are receiving what is
essential for our own salvation. Continue to read the Book of Mormon
every single day and you, along with your testimony, will never be
shaken or waver. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Mom & Fam: I loved those pictures of Grandma Nichols, when you see her
next give her a massive hug and tell her I love her. Mother, I loved
your email you sent, it truly touched my heart and if you read through
my patriarchal blessing you will understand why. It was very simple
but it has such a spiritual significance to me. I love you all. Bryce,
go get that Eagle Scout! Yes Spencer I have gained a bit, but that can
change within the next 3 months and even in the next 22 months! Keep
working hard, enjoy warm weather for me and love one another!

Time is so short!
7/3/2017
Dear Family & Friends,
These emails seem to get shorter and shorter and I do apologise, time
is just so short here in the EMM.
New news is that the mission has a new Mission President! President
McReynolds is from England but has lived in Scottsdale Arizona for
quite a while. We are very sad to see President Ulrich go home but we
are happy that he gave his everything to the Lord and to the mission.
This week has been hard and has been quick since elder Anderson goes
home at the end of the week. We are finding and finding p, miracles
are happening and we are excited for the future! We have just a short
little while for us to get people baptised before I even go home! It's
crazy how quickly time goes.
Just remember that the ONLY way of knowing spiritual truth is by
prayer. This is how we can know if Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the
world and even if Heavenly Father is our Eternal Father. I know that
this gospel is true and that Prayer is essential to have a testimony,
in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Mom & Fam: thanks dad for your story! I am glad that I have been able
to keep my weight down for that would be so sad to gain! Anyway! Don't
count the days down cause soon enough I will be home! Love you all and
thank you so much for your emails! And for pickleball! Email you next
week!
Love,
Elder Nichols
