Street Contact… Interesting Stuff!

January 4, 2016

Hey Everyone!

Do not worry about the title to the email! It has a funny story behind it! So on Saturday we had a street display and we were trying to reel people in to the big poster of Jesus. Out of the blue, a 19 yr. old kid came up and just looked at it and stood there then started talking to me. We chatted and then I brought up religion on him and he sighed and said, "Well, I don’t think you want to know what I am..." I asked what it was and he replied that he had been brought up a Satanist and that he really doesn’t practice it. Ha-ha crazy stuff! Anyway, we talked for a good 20 min when all of the sudden a man started attacking me with harsh words trying to bash and tell us that the church was an example of Extremism. Lee (the 19 yr. old Satanist) started defending the church and put the man in his place... by this point I was speechless and didn’t know what to do. Then after a few min my companion and I had to catch the train back to Wigand (the street display was in Warrington). Lee told us that he was heading that way and would love to give us a lift. We were stunned... we accepted and drove home with him and the whole way he was listening to hard rock music. Even though we asked him to turn it off he asked why and told us that it was 'our day off' ha-ha. He dropped us home and wants to see us every Saturday!!!

Aside from the crazy stuff that happens in the mission, it has been a great week and a good start to a brand new year! I hope everyone has made some New Years Resolutions. Never lose sight on what is important and especially never lose focus on the goals you set. I try my best to follow through with my goals and the best way to remember is to write it down. I love my mission and would love to hear from anyone who wants to email me!

Mom and Family: Who! I love you all so much and Bryce? Hang in there bub! I love you so much and we will watch movies when I get back, I promise! I love hearing about and from all of you! Mom, I do have a slight request... I want to make a picture book so I can carry around pictures with me to show other people! Could you find some great pics and send them over some how? Thanks! I am grateful for the music that is being sent over and I cannot wait to play more! I play quite often to be honest.

I love you all so much and always keep you in my prayers!

Love,
Elder Nichols
