Good Things Are Happening!

Dear Family & Friends,

Well, it’s been one crazy week with a lot of opposition with many people here in Stockport, but that also means that many good things are happening! We met this young lady (maybe 23 yrs. old) at her home just the other night ago and she first said that she was atheist and almost closed the door, but we asked her the questions of why and how. After asking her a few questions, we taught her the gospel at her doorstep and she completely changed from totally anti-Christian to having a desire to know more. She even asked, "So what do I need to do?" that was the golden question :) we gave her the Book of Mormon and set up an appt then headed on our way with a spiritual uplift. maybe 6 min later she shot us a text and told us that her boyfriend was not happy and that she wanted us to come over and speak to him. So we came back maybe 15 since our initial contact and right as we knocked the boyfriend opened the door (as if he were

prayers back since the beginning of time, why would he stop now? He is the same yesterday, today, and forever!!!

Everything is doing really well, we just had the England Manchester Mission Historical Tour today so my email was a bit late but I have some pictures to share :) The EMM is the greatest mission of all and is such a blessing to my life and the lives of others to serve here. I love you allI miss you all.  And I love the emails you send, they uplift and help me in the work!

Good Afternoon and back on fire!

Good Afternoon!

All I can say is wow... "WOW"  Elder Ellis and myself are back
together and back to being on Fire!! He is my greatest friend and the
enjoyable moments we have together are priceless. It is such a
blessing to be back with him. As well, being back here in Stockport
has been a shock. Members that I barley knew before were so thrilled
to see me back in the ward! We'd better use that to our advantage and
try for referrals from those friends ;)

We had a miracle yesterday: on Tuesday we met a lovely lady at her
door as we were tracting. As we discussed the gospel a bit, Elder
Ellis and myself set up a return appt with her for Thursday. As the
days past we were quite excited to have an actual lesson with her. As
we approached her home Thursday afternoon, we met her daughter and she
told us that her mother (the lady who we wanted to see) was not home.
With a touch of sadness in our hearts we were still determined to
contact her soon. Just yesterday, after church, we asked a recent
convert to come with us to various teaching appts. As we went out
contacting different investigators, our appts also fell through.. then
we at last decided to try by this lady we met on Tuesday. As we
knocked on the door, she opened up and immediately invited us in! We
taught her the Restoration and now she is, at the moment, our most
progressing investigator! It was a member-missionary-miracle!!!

My brothers and sisters, I have a testimony centred on our beloved
Saviour Jesus Christ. He is our Redeemer and our king. As he performed
the atonement, he showed us the greatest sacrifice and love. Because
of the law of an Opposition In All Things, Christ gave the hardest
sacrifice to express the greatest love ever imaginable. One principle
We may not realize all the time is that the Atonement plays a huge
part at our Saviors Resurrection! This was a critical point in
regards to the Atonement. As we make mistakes and commit sins we go
through a Spiritual Death but through the Atonement and repentance, we
may have a Spiritual Rebirth! Mosiah 16:8-9 states "But there is a
resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of
death is swallowed up in Christ.
He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is
endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is
endless, that there can be no more death."
He saviour set the path for us to follow. We need never doubt nor fear
or have any confusion on what will happen to us after this life, we
know from example! I know this is true. I love you all, in Jesus
Christ's name, amen.

Mom & Fam: Congrats Spencer! What a great opportunity! I'd love to
hear from you soon! My cold only lasted about 3 days so I didn't quite
have pneumonia ;) it's been gone for a while now haha. Well I have
little to say to all of you.. I love you and am so excited for what
the future holds for us as a happy family! Keep up the stupendous
work. Mom, keep doing what you love!! You must've been sore from your
Saturday trip :) love you all!!

Transfers and an Excellent Week!

Dear Family & Friends,

It’s been an excellent week! I know that some of you are anxious about where I am going for transfers. I am going back to the area of Stockport! I was there December of 2015- January of 2016 and now I am going back! I am very excited, but that’s not all, I am once again serving with my old companion Elder Ellis from Singapore! I am so thrilled to be serving there with him! It will be a fantastic transfer.

We are teaching a few great people and they are progressing greatly! Elder Tuipulotu and his new companion should, if things go perfectly (which they rarely do), see some baptisms this coming transfer! I love the mission and the experiences it gives and teaches.

Yesterday in Shrewsbury ward Elder Tuipulotu and I taught the youth 14-16 on the Atonement and the Book of Mormon. They were very interested and asked some good questions. We read the conversion story of Alma the younger found in Alma 36: 6-21. These scriptures impressed me then, and they impress me now. We learn of an Opposition in all things found in 2 nephi 2:11-13 and so Alma, when he was bound by the Spirit on the ground for the space of 3 days and 3 nights, he was racked with pain, sorrow, and encircled about by the everlasting chains of death. Then he recalls that when he repented of his sins and mistakes he says, "I could remember my pains no more; yea, I was harrowed up by he memory of my sins no more." How amazing is this? I we have full purpose of heart and repent sincerely we are able to forget the wrongs we have made! This is not all of it though.. Alma also says, "yea, my soul was filled with joy.." Alma felt the pains of a damned soul and then he felt the exquisite sweetness of mercy and grace. I invite all of you to read these passages of scripture and find a way how to apply the atonement of Jesus Christ in your lives throughout this week.

I love each and every one of you! I want to give a shout out to some of my dear friends namely Glyn Martaindale, Chris Bryan, and James Heesom! You three are why I have a continuing testimony of the Gospel. I love you all. I miss the times in Wigin, and in Hyde and I will also miss Shrewsbury! Stay true and continue learning more and striving to be the sons that Heavenly Father wants you to be.

Mom & Family: Spencer leaves very very quickly! I am so proud of him! I was almost in pain when I heard that he went to Mr. Mac for his clothes, but that is a different story haha. I am doing very well, kind of sad to leave Shrewsbury but super excited to move on. My cold is gone thankfully! Mom I used the meds, thank you so much! I love you all so much and I know it’s a ways away but I do look forward to our last skype call! Bless you all! Bryce, Sing away my friend and be the best one in the class! I will pray for you! I will also need Spencer’s mission email so I can send him emails! Have an excellent week and may the Lord have an influence in these next few days :)

With love,

Elder Nichols
