Dear Family & Friends,
It’s been an excellent week! I know
that some of you are anxious about where I am going for transfers. I am going
back to the area of Stockport! I was there December of 2015- January of 2016
and now I am going back! I am very excited, but that’s not all, I am once again
serving with my old companion Elder Ellis from Singapore! I am so thrilled to
be serving there with him! It will be a fantastic transfer.
We are teaching a few great people
and they are progressing greatly! Elder Tuipulotu and his new companion should,
if things go perfectly (which they rarely do), see some baptisms this coming
transfer! I love the mission and the experiences it gives and teaches.
Yesterday in Shrewsbury ward Elder
Tuipulotu and I taught the youth 14-16 on the Atonement and the Book of Mormon.
They were very interested and asked some good questions. We read the conversion
story of Alma the younger found in Alma 36: 6-21. These scriptures impressed me
then, and they impress me now. We learn of an Opposition in all things found in
2 nephi 2:11-13 and so Alma, when he was bound by the Spirit on the ground for
the space of 3 days and 3 nights, he was racked with pain, sorrow, and
encircled about by the everlasting chains of death. Then he recalls that when
he repented of his sins and mistakes he says, "I could remember my pains
no more; yea, I was harrowed up by he memory of my sins no more." How amazing
is this? I we have full purpose of heart and repent sincerely we are able to forget
the wrongs we have made! This is not all of it though.. Alma also says,
"yea, my soul was filled with joy.." Alma felt the pains of a damned
soul and then he felt the exquisite sweetness of mercy and grace. I invite all
of you to read these passages of scripture and find a way how to apply the
atonement of Jesus Christ in your lives throughout this week.
I love each and every one of you! I
want to give a shout out to some of my dear friends namely Glyn Martaindale,
Chris Bryan, and James Heesom! You three are why I have a continuing testimony
of the Gospel. I love you all. I miss the times in Wigin, and in Hyde and I
will also miss Shrewsbury! Stay true and continue learning more and striving to
be the sons that Heavenly Father wants you to be.
Mom & Family: Spencer leaves
very very quickly! I am so proud of him! I was almost in pain when I heard that
he went to Mr. Mac for his clothes, but that is a different story haha. I am
doing very well, kind of sad to leave Shrewsbury but super excited to move on.
My cold is gone thankfully! Mom I used the meds, thank you so much! I love you
all so much and I know it’s a ways away but I do look forward to our last skype
call! Bless you all! Bryce, Sing away my friend and be the best one in the
class! I will pray for you! I will also need Spencer’s mission email so I can
send him emails! Have an excellent week and may the Lord have an influence in
these next few days :)
With love,
Elder Nichols
